Kelli O’Hara, the lead actor of the new Off-Broadway revival, is widely known for her starring roles in Broadway classics such as “South Pacific” and “The Bridges of Madison County,” and for her award winning performance in the 2015 production of “The King and I.”This production marks her first Broadway stage appearance in four years. The show will be presented at Studio 54 for a limited run from February 14 to June 2.

“Kiss Me, Kate” is a musical inspired by Shakespeare’s comedy “The Taming of the Shrew,” telling a backstage story of a divorced couple starring together in a musical adaptation of the play. Written by composer Cole Porter, it premiered on Broadway in 1949.The original Broadway production won four awards at the 3rd Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The 2000 revival also achieved major recognition with twelve nominations and ten wins, including Best Revival of a Musical. Today it remains one of Broadway’s most beloved classics.
Kelli O’Hara: Tony Award winning star of “The King and I”
Born April 16 1976, American actor and singer.Kelli O’Hara made her Broadway debut in the Tony nominated production “Jekyll & Hyde” in 2000. She has appeared in more than fifteen Broadway and Off-Broadway productions to date.
Her talent has been consistently recognized. After receiving her first Tony nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for “The Light in the Piazza” in 2005, she went on to receive nominations for five consecutive productions. In total she has been nominated six times, and finally won the Best Actress in a Musical Tony Award for “The King and I” in 2015.
