Update: Boston tryout canceled
The planned out-of-town tryout for the Magic Mike musical, originally scheduled for late 2019 in Boston, was canceled due to creative differences among the production team. Following the cancellation, both the book writer and composer departed the project. Director Trip Cullman and choreographer Camille A. Brown have continued developing the show.
The revised concept is said to focus on Mike’s earlier years, depicting his college life before the events of the original film.
