Born in 1988, Melissa Benoist is an American actress known for her work across television and film. Her breakout roles include Glee, where she appeared alongside Idina Menzel, and the long running series Supergirl. Taking on the role of Carole King places her in the company of Jessie Mueller, who won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for originating the role. Benoist’s casting has generated significant excitement as she begins her stage career.
