Every winter from late November through the end of the year, New York City Ballet presents “George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker,” a historic production set to the iconic score by nineteenth century Russian composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.Performed at the David H. Koch Theater, the home of New York City Ballet, this production has been staged annually since its premiere by the company’s founder and choreographer George Balanchine in 1954.
