Hamilton performed at the CIBC Theatre in Chicago from September 27, 2016, to January 5, 2020 After joining the company as an alternate for creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Miguel starred in the Chicago production of Hamilton beginning in 2016. In October 2019, he stepped away from the show following the passing of his daughter Adelaide, who had battled epilepsy.

After taking time to heal with the support of his wife and young son, he will return to Broadway as Alexander Hamilton starting March 3, 2020.

In an interview, Miguel shared, “The sadness never goes away, but I have a superhero wife and a rockstar son. By moving forward, we keep Adelaide’s story alive in our hearts. The three of us will get through this together.”
