The Broadway adaptation of the global hit “Harry Potter” marks the eighth chapter in the series. The production won five Tony Awards and received four additional nominations in 2018. With ticket prices starting around $350, it became a major Broadway success. Originally featuring the West End’s award-winning cast, the play received the 2018 Tony Award for Best Play. For the new season, the producers cast a talented group of emerging actors from across the United States—selected not for celebrity status but for their exceptional stage skills.

Performances featuring the new cast begin April 22, 2019

With a completely new 27-member lineup, audiences can expect a fresh take on the magical world of Harry Potter. The updated production opens April 22 at the Lyric Theatre in New York City.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Broadway The role of Harry Potter will be played by James Snyder, known for his performances in “If/Then” and “In Transit.” Jenny Jules, who appeared in “The Crucible,” will take on the role of Hermione Granger. The lead role of Albus Potter, Harry’s son, will be portrayed by Nicholas Podany in his Broadway debut.

Albus Potter Nicholas Podany
An actor and songwriter who began performing on stage and in film at age 14. He has appeared in several short films (2013, 2016). This marks his Broadway debut in the pivotal role of Albus Potter, making him one of the most promising young talents to watch.
Ginny Potter Diane Davis
Rose to fame for her role on ITV’s long-running drama “Coronation Street.” On stage, she appeared in “The Model Apartment” (2014), which earned her a Drama Desk Award nomination for Best Featured Actress.
Draco Malfoy Jonno Roberts
A New Zealand-born actor known for his work in the U.S. and Europe. His credits include the film “Bug” (2006, directed by Tracy Letts) and stage productions such as “King Lear,” where he portrayed Edmund. On Broadway, he appeared in “Take Me Out” (2003).
