Highlights of Cats – Must-See Moments
Choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, the Visionary Behind “Hamilton”
The revival of Cats features choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, the award-winning choreographer of Hamilton, one of the most in-demand Broadway shows of all time. Blankenbuehler is also known for his work on In the Heights and Bring It On. While honoring the original ballet-inspired choreography, he adds contemporary, complex, and dynamic movements that bring a fresh energy to this Broadway classic.
A Cast Full of Energy
With almost no spoken dialogue, Cats relies entirely on powerful singing and nonstop dancing. Every performer must have exceptional physical ability, the stamina to dance for over two hours, and strong vocal skills. The result is an electrifying performance where the cast’s energy never lets up – making it impossible to look away even for a moment.
Step Onto the Stage During Intermission
During intermission, audiences are invited to walk onto the stage for a rare behind-the-scenes view. You can admire the intricate set design, take photos, and enjoy the perspective of standing right where the performers dance. With only 15 minutes, it’s best to head to the stage as soon as intermission begins.

Behind the Scenes of Cats
A Genius of Musicals: Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Masterpiece
Andrew Lloyd Webber, the legendary composer behind global hits like The Phantom of the Opera, School of Rock, Evita, Sunset Boulevard, and Jesus Christ Superstar, also created the unforgettable score for Cats. On Broadway, several of his productions have been staged, including The Phantom of the Opera and Cats. The show has also been a favorite in many countries, with notable long-running productions around the world.
It All Started as a Collection of Poems
The distinctive lyrics of Cats are based on T.S. Eliot’s poetry collection Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats. Andrew Lloyd Webber set Eliot’s whimsical poems to music, which became the foundation for the Broadway musical that went on to captivate audiences worldwide.
About Andrew Lloyd Webber
Born in London, Andrew Lloyd Webber achieved a series of remarkable successes from the late 1960s through the 1980s, often collaborating with lyricist Tim Rice. Many of his best-known works, including Cats, Starlight Express, The Phantom of the Opera, and School of Rock, became long-running productions in London’s West End and on Broadway.
For the 1996 film adaptation of Evita, he reunited with Tim Rice to write the new song “You Must Love Me,” which later became part of the stage version starting in 2006.
In recognition of his contributions to the arts, Lloyd Webber was knighted in 1992 and, in 1997, was elevated to the peerage as Baron Lloyd-Webber of Sydmonton.

Cats – Review
Review by Tanaka:
The dancing was amazing
The dancing was especially impressive – the movements were so quick and acrobatic, just like real cats. The songs and costumes also fit the theme perfectly, so I was completely drawn into the world. That said, since it’s about cats, there isn’t really a clear storyline, so I wasn’t always sure what the plot was about (lol). But honestly, watching the actors throw themselves into playing cats and dancing nonstop was more enjoyable than trying to follow complicated English dialogue. Even with my limited English, I had a great time.

Review by Mendy:
A little underwhelmed
Maybe my expectations were too high, but I felt a bit let down. The cast’s singing and dancing were excellent, of course, but personally I couldn’t really follow the story – it just looked like actors dressed as cats dancing to music without much plot. There were lots of families in the audience, so maybe it’s better suited for kids. It just wasn’t for me.

Review by “Cats!”:
One of the best I’ve seen
This might be the Best musical I’ve ever seen. Beforehand, I read some comments saying it was “boring,” so I was a little worried, but those fears were completely unnecessary. I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage for the entire two and a half hours. Sure, there isn’t a traditional story, which may not be for everyone, but I personally loved it. To me, musicals are all about singing and dancing, so this was perfect. During intermission, kids could even go up on stage to take photos with the actors in costume, which makes it great for families.

Review by Natsumi:
Honeymoon memories
I went with my husband on our honeymoon, and it was such a wonderful memory. Everything – the music, dancing, costumes, and makeup – was pure Broadway quality. We went to a 2 PM matinee and the theater was packed. There were lots of families, and even some people in the audience had cat makeup like the actors, which was fun to see. The atmosphere was so contagious that I even bought cat ears as a souvenir on the way out.
