Aladdin – Story
The Plot / Summary of Aladdin
Unbeknownst to him, this is all part of a scheme by Jafar, the royal vizier and a cunning sorcerer determined to seize control of the kingdom. Knowing that only a “diamond in the rough” can enter the magical Cave of Wonders, shaped like a giant tiger’s head, Jafar disguises himself as a shabby old man and frees Aladdin from prison in exchange for retrieving a mysterious magic lamp hidden deep within the cave.
With the help of a magic carpet, Aladdin obtains the lamp. Through a twist of fate, he rubs it and becomes the master of Genie, the lamp’s all-powerful spirit.
Granted three wishes, Aladdin transforms into Prince Ali Ababwa to win Jasmine’s heart, since the law dictates that she must marry a prince. Meanwhile, furious at failing to secure the lamp, Jafar uses dark magic to manipulate the Sultan and plots to marry Jasmine in order to claim the throne.
When Prince Ali arrives at the palace and quickly charms both Jasmine and the Sultan, Jafar’s jealousy intensifies. He attempts to eliminate Aladdin, but ultimately fails, bringing him closer to his own downfall. Prince Ali is celebrated and officially announced as Jasmine’s future husband.
Yet even as his future seems secure, Aladdin begins to fear the truth: without Genie’s magic, his identity as Prince Ali will vanish, and everything he has gained could be lost.
At the same time, the disgraced Jafar has not abandoned his ambition to rule Agrabah. Will Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie be able to achieve their happily-ever-after?

ブロードウェイといえば!と思ってアラジンにしました~ マジカルでゴージャスで時に愉快な魔法の世界が目の前に。迫力、すごかったです!見れてよかった!
Before seeing this performance, I wasn't expecting anything better than the Disney animation, but it was many times more impressive and beautiful than I expected.
I might prefer the Disney animation, but I still think it's something you should see at least once!
Actually, I bought tickets for the wrong show, but thanks to Atto New York's prompt response, I was able to watch Aladdin smoothly and without any problems.
I went to see it over the Obon holidays. It was one of my most memorable trips to New York. I thought the tickets were a little pricey, but I'm so glad I decided to go. The Japanese version is fantastic, but I was even more impressed by the extravagance of the costumes and stage. I'd also like to give the actor who played Genie an award for Best Supporting Actor. He made me laugh so much.
I fell in love with Aladdin's sweet singing voice. Not only did he faithfully recreate the Disney animated character, but his live singing voice was so captivating that I think it was his voice that drew me into the world of Disney. This time I got a cheap ticket and sat in the third floor seats, but next time I'll definitely sit in the first floor seats. Thank you very much.
I saw the live-action movie in Japan, so I did some research before going to see it. I haven't seen the animated version, but musicals tend to lean more towards the animated version.
Having only seen the movie, I felt that Genie was a little less impressive, but that made it more interesting, so I really enjoyed it as if I were watching a stage play. The magic carpet ride was amazing.
The princess's voice was incredibly powerful, but I also felt that the actress in the live-action version had more poignancy.
