HAIR – About the Show
Highlights of HAIR – Must-See Moments
After its heartfelt closing in June 2010, HAIR returned to Broadway in the summer of 2011 for a special limited engagement, HAIR: Summer of Love 2011. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime revival!
This groundbreaking rock musical is a bold anti-war, counterculture masterpiece. First staged Off-Broadway in October 1967 by actors and creators James Rado and Gerome Ragni, it made its Broadway debut in 1968. HAIR not only reflected its turbulent era during the Vietnam War but also became a cultural phenomenon that reshaped American theater. In 2009, it was honored with the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.
The story follows a tribe of long-haired youth who embody the spirit of rebellion. Through rock music and fearless expression, they challenge traditional values while demanding peace, love, and freedom. With its raw emotion, defiance, and unforgettable score, HAIR shattered theatrical conventions and remains celebrated as the original rock musical. Experience a show that captures both the heart of the 1960s and the history of Broadway itself.

HAIR – Review
Review by Churros:
Hair!
The story was a little different from the old movie version, but I’m glad I had watched it beforehand. Personally, I preferred the movie. However, there was a female performer who didn’t appear in the movie, and since I already had the CD, I was looking forward to her solo, it was even better than I expected.
.
The first half had great energy and fun audience interaction. In the second half, the storyline and lighting got darker, so I almost fell asleep, but the ending was strong and moving. Honestly, it’s probably best enjoyed from the front rows. If you know the era and background well, you’ll get even more out of it. As for me, I’ve always loved the music of this show, so just hearing it all performed live was more than enough to make it worthwhile.
