The Plot / Summary of A Christmas Story

The story is set in the 1940s. The main character is Ralph, a 9-year-old boy with glasses living in the Northwestern United States.

For Christmas, all Ralph wants is the legendary Red Ryder BB Gun. He asks Santa for it, but to his disappointment, Santa turns him down cold.

As Ralph’s dreams and reality collide, a bizarre leg-shaped lamp, a pink bunny pajama costume, and a cranky Santa Claus all make an appearance, turning this Christmas into one that’s anything but ordinary.
