ELF – Story
The Plot / Summary of ELF
One day, Buddy realizes he is much larger than the other elves and struggles with toy-making. Curious, he asks Papa Elf, who reveals the truth: Buddy was born to Walter Hobbs and Susan Wells, but was left at an orphanage after his mother’s death. Walter, now working at a publishing company in New York, is still alive.
Determined to find his real father, Buddy sets out for New York. After some confusion, he discovers Walter at the Empire State Building. Though skeptical, Walter brings Buddy home, introducing him to his wife Emily and son Michael. Buddy quickly bonds with Michael and even begins dating a young woman named Jovie.
Meanwhile, Walter faces trouble at work but finally secures a meeting with bestselling author Miles Finch. When Finch visits, Buddy mistakes him for an elf because of his height. Offended, Finch storms out, costing Walter the deal. Furious, Walter blames Buddy and throws him out.
Heartbroken, Buddy leaves a note and runs away. Realizing their mistake, Walter and Michael set out to find him, determined to bring Buddy back into the family. Will they reach him in time and rediscover the true spirit of Christmas together?
