“First Date” is a 90 minute romantic comedy musical that dives into the hilariously awkward world of blind dating.

Aaron is played by Zachary Levi, who sang a duet with Mandy Moore in Disney’s animated film “Tangled” and starred as the world’s most charming geek spy in NBC’s hit series “Chuck,” which ran for five seasons from 2007 to 2012. His charisma and comedic timing make him perfect for this role.

Opposite him is Krysta Rodriguez as Casey, known for playing Wednesday in the Broadway musical “The Addams Family,” performing in “A Chorus Line,” and appearing in Steven Spielberg’s TV musical drama “Smash.”

The book is written by Austin Winsberg, creator of the popular TV series “Gossip Girl,” often described as a “young Sex and the City.” With one of the freshest and most exciting creative teams in America, this Broadway show became a crowd pleasing romantic comedy musical that even found success internationally, including productions in Japan.

The Plot / Summary of First Date

Casey has never been without romance, breezing through casual relationships and quick dates, while Aaron is a straight laced banker with little dating experience. Their worlds collide when a mutual friend sets them up on a blind date that will change their lives.

From half true introductions to clashes over their completely different outlooks, their first encounter is filled with awkward laughs, witty banter, and surprising sparks as time flies by. But where will their love story lead?
