Highlights of Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 – Must-See Moments

Flower button iconTransformed into a dazzling high-end nightclub atmosphere

Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet Broadway highlights The Imperial Theatre was completely renovated to create the look and feel of an opulent Russian nightclub. For this production, the cast performs in lavish costumes and bold makeup, moving freely through the reimagined space. There are even seats on the stage itself, where audience members may find performers speaking directly to them or sitting nearby.

Special walkways connect the stage to the mezzanine, giving those in the balcony a close-up view of the action. If you sit on the aisle, you may even receive something from the performers as they pass by.

When it premiered Off-Broadway, the show was staged in a dinner-theater style, with actors weaving between tables. On Broadway, the immersive staging remains, but with an expanded cast and even greater spectacle.

Praised by New York Magazine, the New York Post, and Time Out as one of the top ten musicals of 2012, this production arrived on Broadway more ambitious than ever. It is a must-see for anyone looking for a bold and innovative Broadway experience.

The story is based on a section of Leo Tolstoy’s *War and Peace*, depicting Russian society during the Napoleonic Wars. Almost entirely sung-through, the show unfolds like an operatic musical with continuous music.

“Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812” has also been staged internationally, including a Tokyo production featuring acclaimed performers Yoshio Inoue and Erika Ikuta.
