Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel, the show explores the eternal struggle between good and evil within the human soul. In past productions, it earned four Tony Award nominations and achieved an impressive three years and eight months on Broadway. The show has such a devoted fan base that repeat audiences are known as “Jekkies,” a term created to describe its many loyal followers.

Starring actor Constantine Maroulis, who masterfully switches between the roles of Jekyll and Hyde, this performance is a must-see. The musical version also introduces original characters not found in the novel, including Jekyll’s fiancee Emma and the courtesan Lucy. Their relationships with Jekyll and Hyde add layers of romance and intrigue unique to the stage adaptation.

Jekyll & Hyde – Story

The Plot / Summary of Jekyll & Hyde

Set in Victorian era London, this musical follows young scientist and physician Dr Henry Jekyll as he searches for a way to cure his ailing father, leading him to study the dual nature of good and evil within the human mind.

After tireless experimentation, he creates a serum meant to separate good from evil, but his proposal for human trials is rejected as unethical. Heartbroken, Jekyll encounters the courtesan Lucy and decides to test the serum on himself.

The experiment unleashes Edward Hyde, Jekyll’s darker and violent side. Over time, Hyde begins to surface without the serum, and strange acts of violence spread through the city.

Jekyll struggles to regain control of his own life, but the question remains: can he overcome the darkness inside him or will Hyde take over completely?
