Miss Saigon – Story
The Plot / Summary of Miss Saigon
Three years later, Chris has tried to move on with his life in the U.S., marrying an American woman, Ellen, though he is still haunted by memories of Kim. Meanwhile, Kim waits faithfully, believing Chris will return for her.
Kim’s childhood fiance, Thuy, has risen to a high rank in the new government. When he finds Kim, he discovers she has a young son named Tam, fathered by Chris. Enraged, Thuy attempts to kill the boy, and Kim shoots Thuy with a gun given to her by Chris. Desperate, Kim turns to the Engineer for help. Realizing Tam is the child of an American, the Engineer seizes the opportunity to pursue his own dream of reaching the United States, posing as Tam’s uncle.
Back in America, Chris’s friend John now works with an organization that supports war orphans known as the “Bui Doi.” Learning that Kim is alive and raising Chris’s child, John tells Chris the truth. Together with Ellen, they travel to Bangkok to meet Kim, leading to a heartbreaking reunion that defines the climax of Miss Saigon.

Review from Saigon:
I Cried So Much
The lead singer was incredible, but what impressed me even more was the supporting actress whose performance was unforgettable. I have seen many musicals, but this Broadway classic was the first time I felt such strong emotions.

Review from Mako Saito:
Completely Overwhelmed
I thought I knew the story and expected something predictable, like a typical war movie. But the acting drew me in so much more than I imagined, and I was overwhelmed. One pack of tissues was not enough.

Review from Takeo Kito:
Asian Lead on Broadway
It was my first time seeing a Broadway musical with an Asian actor in the lead role, and it was inspiring. The show is in English, of course, but seeing Asian talent shine on such a major stage was truly meaningful.
