The Plot / Summary of Mrs. Doubtfire

Daniel, a struggling voice actor, can’t hold down a job because he constantly complains about his roles or adds unscripted ad-libs. With little steady work, he spends most of his time playing with his kids and avoids helping with chores at home.

Eventually, his wife Miranda loses patience and asks for a divorce. Daniel is devastated when he learns he can only see his three beloved children once a week, and the thought of being apart from them breaks his heart.

One day, Daniel discovers that Miranda is looking to hire a housekeeper. Desperate to spend more time with his children, he convinces his brother, a makeup artist, to help him completely transform into a woman.

Under the name “Mrs. Doubtfire,” Daniel manages to get hired as the family’s new housekeeper. But there’s one big problem: he has no experience with housework. From that moment on, a whirlwind of comic chaos begins…

The musical Mrs. Doubtfire had its world premiere at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre. So this work is finally being adapted for the stage. I had no idea. I'm planning to go to New York during Golden Week in May, and I'm wondering whether to see Mrs. Doubtfire. The trailer also conveyed how interesting it is.
