Shrek the Musical – Story
The Plot / Summary of Shrek the Musical
One day, Shrek meets a talkative donkey named Donkey. Although Shrek finds him noisy and annoying, Donkey refuses to leave his side and stays with him.
Meanwhile, fairy-tale creatures banished by Lord Farquaad invade Shrek’s swamp and disrupt his peaceful life.
Wanting to reclaim his quiet home, Shrek goes to Lord Farquaad to negotiate and drive the creatures away.
At the same time, Lord Farquaad seeks to become king by marrying a beautiful princess. He chooses Princess Fiona, who is trapped in a castle guarded by a dragon. He promises Shrek to clear the swamp if Shrek rescues her.
However, Princess Fiona quickly falls in love with Shrek, and the two begin to grow closer. Yet, Fiona hides a secret – at sunset, her appearance changes.
What will become of their romance, and will Shrek be able to keep his promise to Lord Farquaad?
