Winter Garden Theatre – Home of Mamma Mia!
The Winter Garden Theatre is one of the most eye-catching venues on Broadway, standing prominently along the famous avenue. Renovated with inspiration from traditional British theaters, the venue itself creates an exciting atmosphere even before the curtain rises. Interestingly, the building was originally used as a horse exchange before being transformed into a theater. While there are doors facing both 7th Avenue and Broadway, the main entrance is located on the Broadway side, so be sure to enter from there.
Is Winter Garden Theatre Area Safe for Visitors?
Winter Garden Theatre is located just a few minutes from Times Square (TSQ), a popular area filled with tourists even late at night. Even after a Mamma Mia! performance ends around 10 PM, you can comfortably return to your hotel.Mamma Mia! – Best Seat
The Seating Chart of Winter Garden Theatre

Seating for Mamma Mia! at the Winter Garden Theatre is divided into two main sections: the Orchestra on the ground level and the Mezzanine above. The majority of seats are located in the Orchestra, which is wide and offers clear sightlines even from many of the side sections. While legroom can feel a bit tight, the view of the stage is excellent throughout the theater, making it a comfortable place to enjoy this beloved Broadway musical. We recommend traveling light and bringing fewer belongings for the best experience.
Best Seats for Mamma Mia!
In the Orchestra section, the middle to rear rows are especially popular, as they provide a well-balanced view of the entire stage. From the very front rows, you can see directly into the orchestra pit, but the angle requires you to look up quite a bit.

My first time in New York.
I was able to see a musical in its original home, which I've always wanted to see, and it's a wonderful memory!
I was shown to my seat by a staff member. My seat was seventh from the front, a little to the right, but it was fine.
The musical skillfully incorporated my favorite ABBA songs, and featured solid singing and dancing.
The audience was united, moved! I was so moved! It was an amazing night.
I've only just returned last night, and New York made me feel like I want to try my hand at "The Phantom of the Opera" one day.
Thank you for the tickets.
Even if you're not confident in your English skills, as long as you understand the story, you'll be OK.
It's simply moving. The songs are great. The dancing is great. And it's simply entertaining. No complaints!
It was my first time in New York and I saw my first musical, Mamma Mia! \(^O^)/
I got goosebumps from the very first song and was overwhelmed by the power of the performance! I was moved until the very end!
And since it was an ABBA song I'd "heard before!", the melody was beautiful not only for the solos but also when everyone sang together.
I'm ashamed to say that tears welled up in my eyes at the end of the song.
If I ever go to New York again, I definitely want to see it again.
Thank you so much for getting me such great seats!
I was so glad I got a seat right up front! 8th row from the front, the best seats ever!! Thank you, At Broadway, for the tickets!!!
I don't think I would have been able to see that close, even in an S-seat, in a Japanese theater.
And on Broadway, the level was on a whole different level.
Sophie's passionate singing was audible even without a microphone.
The love song really touched me!
The movie will be starting when I get back to Japan, so I'd like to see it again.
Thank you so much to the employee who arranged the tickets and the woman who helped me collect them.
I went to see the matinee performance on December 26th. Actually, I'd only seen the film, but while the production was slightly different, the flow was the same, so I enjoyed it without any problems.
The power of music is truly amazing! ♪
Every song has a familiar melody, making it a pleasant experience to watch.
In that sense, I might recommend this to people of the generation (parents) who know ABBA. lol
By the way, in the performance I saw, Lisa Brescia played the role of Donna.
Great singing! Great acting! What a wonderful actress.
However, the three men playing the former lovers seemed a little too old...lol
Also, during the performance, some people were humming along, and others were swaying their bodies to the rhythm...
Isn't that a bit unthinkable in Japan? It's a theater-style performance, but since the entire venue has that kind of atmosphere, I don't think it'll bother you too much.
Anyway, I hope everyone in the audience simply enjoys the performance set to ABBA's music.
Also, as with any long-running production,
I think you'll enjoy the show more if you do some preparation beforehand (such as seeing a Japanese performance or the movie).
