Tina: The Tina Turner Musical – Story
The Plot / Summary of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical
Forced to give up singing, Tina left her grandparents and sister and began working as a housemaid for acquaintances. Later, she reunited with her mother, and together with her sister, moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where she worked as a nurse’s assistant.
In 1958, while frequently visiting nightclubs, Tina came across a live performance by Ike Turner and his band, “Kings of Rhythm.” Instantly captivated by their music, she couldn’t resist and spontaneously jumped on stage to sing with them.
Recognizing her extraordinary vocal potential, Ike let her sing for the rest of the set and convinced the band to take her on as their frontwoman. Soon after her debut, Tina married Ike, and together as a duo they quickly rose to stardom, producing hit after hit.
Yet behind what seemed like a glamorous and successful life, Tina endured Ike’s alcoholism, cocaine addiction, and domestic violence. I learned that life has its ups and downs, and that it's not a glamorous life. I was a little worried about my English, but the music was all familiar to me, and I thought that anyone who likes Tina's music would enjoy it.
The performance was even more wonderful than I had expected. The cast members' singing voices were so powerful that they reminded me of Tina Turner. Her life was so difficult, and her life was so well-packed in this performance. I was moved. If you're a fan of Tina Turner's music, you should definitely see this.
The performance was amazing!!! Even if you don't know much about her, you can still enjoy this production. You can see a powerful performance that is different from Beautiful. The cast's singing voices are also impeccable.
